The add to cart button will appear once you select the values above This mid-twentieth century master quality violin, most likely from Markneukirchen is iron-branded and stamped ‘Giuseppe Giachetti’ and shows similarities to the Italian makers work, particularly in the scroll. The fine-grained spruce top, widening to the flanks, book-matched maple to the back and highly flamed, as are the ribs, exquisite carving throughout, particularly in the scroll, corner work and fluted f-holes is finally accentuated by a very well preserved beautiful honey-amber varnish. There is evidence of some varnish wear on the upper-treble bout, consistent with orchestral playing. This is an extremely rich and powerful violin for a player who has well-developed bow technique to extract it.
