Welcome, my name is David Power, owner of Power Fine Violins.

I have a passion for fine violins and bows, having enjoyed studying and collecting them for more than 25 years. 

Power Fine Violins currently has the largest selection of fine violins in Ireland, including antique European instruments and top-quality contemporary violins of the new world.  Our studio in Dungarvan, Co. Waterford in southern Ireland carries a large range of professionally set-up instruments, from fractional-sized violins and beginner full-sized violins all the way to performer level and collectible instruments.

We only work with professional luthiers, adjusting every violin to voice it and match it with the most suitable strings and fittings to achieve the best sound and response for that instrument.  We are proud of the quality and condition of our violins and bows and I am confident you will be amazed at how many great sounding instruments we have at all price points.

We are open 7 days a week, usually by appointment to give clients the best opportunity to try instruments in a relaxed setting.  I usually advise allowing at least three hours here for your visit – most people stay here for between 3 to 5 hours.  Weekends are particularly suitable.

We can also travel by arrangement to meet you with a selection of instruments to try in the comfort of your home, and clients that are further away can purchase instruments directly from our website with a 14-day no quibble returns policy, which are professionally packed and shipped safely to you. 

In addition, if you purchase an instrument from us and you wish to upgrade with us in the future, we guarantee a full-price allowance of the original purchase price, subject to condition against an instrument of higher value.  We are happy to provide written valuations for any of our instruments. 

We will also consider taking your own instrument in trade against one of ours and we will allow you a fair price for it.
