An early 20th Century German violin € 3.500,00 Add to cart The add to cart button will appear once you select the values above An early 20th Century German violin of indeterminate origin. It was made with well figured wood for the neck and scroll and rather less figured wood for the ribs and back and tasteful original antiquing of the varnish, in pristine condition, with just a few tiny marks under the tailpiece. It carries an interesting iron-brand to the inside, like a representation of 3 trees in a circular cluster which we can’t recognise or identify. This violin sounds wonderful, at once warm and dark and still maintaining a very quick response. It is set up with Thomastik Vision strings, slightly higher tensioned than Dominants, which suit it well. A newly fitted bridge and soundpost complete the setup on this very nice violin.
